Terra Firm Earthquake Preparedness Inc. was formed in 1994 shortly after the Los Angeles earthquake. Specializing in non-structural seismic restraint contracting and consulting, the company employs thirty-nine: engineers, managers and technologists. Terra Firm Inc. is a private company registered in British Columbia.

Approach

Terra Firm Inc. uses software based on new Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Guideline for Non-Structural Seismic Risk Assessment. All building components are arrayed by risk level and cost so that rational management decisions can be made. Seismic restraint work involves the best products, sourced from around the world and installed by highly trained personnel. Because of the highly specialized nature of seismic restraint installation, experience counts in this field.

Terra Firm Inc. is the only company in B.C. offering comprehensive Earthquake Preparedness Services. Our major clients include: Public Works & Government Services Canada, Industry Canada, BC Gas, Vancouver Fire Department, Toronto Dominion Bank, Scotia Bank, Blue Cross, Mitel and all the hospitals in the Lower Mainland health regions.

Terra Firm Inc. is an active member of EPICC (Emergency Preparedness for Industry and Commerce Council) and provides ongoing consultation to regional emergency organizations including North and West Vancouver Emergency Preparedness, The Vancouver Fire Department, and local schools.
